Coca-Cola GB’s one-night-only Beach Club in Shoreditch kicks off the summer season and launches the Share A Coke summer campaign with a star-studded party, DJ’d by Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw.
Palm trees, a boardwalk, surfboards – the Coca-Cola Beach Club might be in the middle of Shoreditch in east London, but it’s designed to whisk you away to a dream holiday destination. It’s inspired by the limited-edition bottles of Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and Diet Coke featuring the names of 75 famous cities and exotic beaches – all part of this summer’s Share A Coke campaign.

There’s even PA announcements declaring that the Coca-Cola flight is now ready for boarding.
“Best adventure holiday – Peru. Best beach holiday – Harbour Island in the Bahamas. Favourite city break – New York.” - Ollie Proudlock, Made in Chelsea cast member
Ollie Proudlock from Made in Chelsea arrives at the Coca-Cola Beach Club.
We’re keen to find out where the best places some of the guests have been on holiday. “I love Mexico, I love Belize, and I really love Italy as well. Basically anywhere in Italy because I love pasta,” says Radio 1 presenter Nick Grimshaw.
Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Proudlock can’t narrow his favourite holiday down to one so he tells us his top three: “Best adventure holiday – Peru, doing the Lares Trek and ending at Machu Picchu. Best beach holiday – Harbour Island in the Bahamas. It’s 4 miles by 2 miles, with pink sand beaches – paradise. And favourite city break – it’s got to be New York. The energy, the buzz. It never sleeps and it’s glorious.”
Ella Eyre kicks back on a Coca-Cola Zero Sugar deck chair.
Feel the sand between your toes
Wandering past the check-in desk takes you into the stunning beach party setting. Here you find a Coca-Cola bar with sunglass-wearing bartenders serving glass bottles of Coca-Cola classic, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and Diet Coke with red and white striped straws. There’s also a cocktail menu of drinks with names like Miami Shade, all poured over lashings of ice and topped with aromatic mint leaves or wedges of lime.
“I really want to do some Instagram-braggy beach breaks – so that people want to unfollow me because it looks so nice. Somewhere like the Seychelles.” – Kat Shoob, Heart Radio presenter
Beach huts line the decked area, surrounded by palm trees and greenery, where Made in Chelsea cast members Ollie Proudlock, Lucy Watson and James Dunmore enjoy ice cold drinks. Follow the white wooden boardwalk past model Daisy Lowe lounging on the cabana day bed, and sink into a Coke Zero deckchair on the sand next to singer Ella Eyre.
BitterSweet DJ duo Ashley James and Charlotte De Carle pose in the DJ booth beach hut.
A DJ decks are set up in one of the beach huts for DJ duo BitterSweet and Nick Grimshaw to play their sets and blast the sounds of summer. It’s perfect for Heart Radio presenter Kat Shoob, who says her favourite holiday destination is Ibiza. She also wants to travel more: “I really want to do some Instagram-braggy beach breaks – so that people want to unfollow me because it looks so nice. Somewhere like the Seychelles.”
Sunglasses, flip flops and amazing photos – three essentials for wherever you’re going on holiday. Next to the DJ beach hut you’ll find a summer photobooth with a chest full of props and a gorgeous beach scene background where guests can create their own ‘wish you were here’ summer snaps and gifs.
“I’ve never really been on holiday without loads of people, so I like having lots of people to hang out with and make it feel like a stag do every time.” - Nick Grimshaw, Radio 1 presenter
There’s also a personalised flip flop station - choose your dream destination and a range of summery icons to be heat printed onto a pair of flip flops in a design of your creation.
SBTV presenter Lily Mercer creates a holiday snap in the photobooth.
What are Nick Grimshaw’s holiday must-haves? “Headphones – I listen to a lot of music on holiday, SPF because I always think that I’m Latino or can tan really well and I can’t, and your friends! I’ve never really been on holiday without loads of people, so I like having lots of people to hang out with and make it feel like a stag do every time.”
Made in Chelsea’s Lucy Watson goes practical for her holiday essentials: A camera, suncream, comfy sandals and a go-to bikini while her boyfriend James Dunmore says all he needs is a pair of shorts.
