The Christmas party season is upon us, and with it comes the inevitable fear of running out of mixer drinks at festive get-togethers. In fact, research reveals a third (32%) of people run out of mixer at Christmas house parties. In answer to this widespread British problem, iconic mixer brand Schweppes has launched its very own Mixer Hotline delivering bottled bubbles direct to peoples’ doors – all absolutely free.
The brand has teamed-up with chef and food writer, Gizzi Erskine, to launch the service, helping to deliver the refreshing taste of Schweppes to Christmas revellers. All party-goers have to do is call the dedicated hotline number to claim six bottles of Schweppes mixers including Tonic Water, Slimline Tonic Water, Soda Water, Bitter Lemon, Lemonade and Canada Dry Ginger Ale.
In a nationwide survey commissioned by Schweppes, 48% of Britons said that mixer drinks are one of the most important items on their shopping list during the Christmas party season and that a third 32% have run out of them in the last 12 months. Half (51%) also said parties run dry before 10pm.
Gizzi Erskine, chef and food writer, says, “I’m ashamed to say I’ve definitely been one of the unlucky people who has run out of mixers at many a Christmas party – so it made me smile to think I could help others avoid this common festive pitfall, and do it on a Vespa too. Here’s to a mixer-filled Christmas!”
Kristine Humphreys, Senior Brand Manager at Schweppes GB says, “When our research revealed just how many people in the UK run out of our products at parties, it made us even more determined to try and help their Christmas shin-digs go off without a hitch. We’re so excited to launch our Mixer Hotline delivery service in London this week. Merry Christmas from Schweppes!”
The Mixer Hotline opens at 5pm on Friday 9th December 2016, and will close at 10pm to people living in central London – cocktail-lovers should call 0203 455 7171 to get their hands on their batch of free Schweppes mixer to enjoy this Christmas. Terms and Conditions apply[iii]
