8 Drinks from Coca-Cola Great Britain and their no or low sugar alternative | Ingredients, sugar and caffeine | Coca-Cola GB

Do you love your favourite soft drink but want to cut down on your sugar intake? Well did you know that all our sparkling soft drinks that are part of the Coca-Cola system have a reduced sugar or sugar-free buddy?

Take Coca-Cola Zero Sugar - its new and improved recipe means it tastes even more like Coca-Cola Classic. Under its previous name of Coca-Cola Zero, 5 in 10 people didn’t know that the drink actually contained zero sugar. We’re now actively encouraging more people to make a no or lower sugar choice so its new name and look makes it even clearer that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is sugar-free.

Here are 8 low or no sugar companions for your favourite soft drinks:

1. Coca-Cola Classic

Coca-Cola Classic has been enjoyed since 1886 and is the world’s favourite soft drink.

Looking for a lower sugar, or sugar free alternative to Coca-Cola Classic?

Over the years we've developed lots of tasty Coca-Cola variants, including Coca-Cola Vanilla and the much loved Coca-Cola Cherry. But you can also take your pick from a range of no and reduced sugar and options…

  • Coca-Cola Zero Sugar tastes even more like Coca-Cola Classic and is sugar free
  • Diet Coke has a lighter taste than Coca-Cola Classic with its own unique blend of flavours and is sugar and calorie free

2. Sprite

The crisp, citrusy taste of Sprite first hit shop shelves back in 1961 and is now enjoyed in over 190 countries. In 2013 we added stevia plant extract, reducing the sugar content of Sprite by 37%, compared to its previous recipe.

If you’d like to enjoy Sprite with no sugar, try…

Sprite Zero. It was first developed back in 1974 and was known as Sugar Free Sprite. It has the same citrusy, sharp taste but it’s sugar-free, calorie-free and caffeine-free.

3. Dr Pepper

The sparkling blend of 23 fruit flavours has been around for well over a century. It was created by Texas pharmacist Charles Alderton in 1885, who gave a sample of the first batch to Wade Morrison, a local shop owner, who then agreed to stock the drink.

Would you love it if Dr Pepper had a sugar-free friend?

Dr Pepper Zero was originally launched in the US way back in 1962 - known at the time as Diet Dr Pepper. This sugar-free choice still has the same bold, fruity taste and is available worldwide.

4. Fanta

The tingly fruity taste of Fanta Orange makes it a popular favourite. It’s made with 5% juice and in 2007 we changed the recipe, meaning it now contains 33% less sugar than the original.

There are more than 90 flavours of Fanta globally and in Great Britain you can enjoy Fanta Lemon and lots of other taste varieties.

Which of these Fanta varieties have less sugar?

The zesty orange flavour of Fanta Orange Zero means you can enjoy the refreshing Fanta taste with zero calories!

Did you know that Fanta was first introduced in 1940 and is our second oldest brand of The Coca-Cola Company?

5. Lilt

Inspired by the flavours of the Caribbean, we reformulated the Lilt recipe in 2006, reducing its sugar and calorie content by 56%.

Want to try Lilt with even less sugar?

Lilt Zero has no added sugar and zero calories but it’s still made with the same real pineapple and grapefruit juices as Lilt and has the same delicious tropical taste!

6. Powerade
