More needs to be done to increase recycling rates, and a well-designed deposit return scheme could help. Ultimately, the introduction of a deposit return scheme is a decision for the Governments of Great Britain, but we’re committed to supporting any well-designed initiative that could improve recovering and recycling rates, and which works alongside and complements our existing household recycling scheme
Around the world we have been involved in the implementation of well-designed deposit schemes and we’ve seen the positive impact they can have as part of a holistic approach. That’s why we’re testing an on-the-go bottle recovery and reward programme in Great Britain to see what impact it might have.
