Celebrating goals the Roger Milla way
Coca‑Cola embraces the joy of football with the man who taught the world to dance
Roger Milla is the now legendary Cameroonian striker who famously celebrated by dancing, in front of a Coca-Cola perimeter board, during the 1990 FIFA World Cup Italy™.
Milla inspired a generation of footballers to create goal celebrations of their own. He was also the inspiration behind this year's Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup™ campaign, a worldwide celebration of goals and the power of international football.
A Coca-Cola documentary exploring the history of famous goal celebrations and the significance of this FIFA World Cup™ to Africa will be released as part of the campaign. Get a behind the scenes look here.
Coca-Cola Celebration Award
We're also running the first ever award for the best goal celebration of the tournament - the Coca-Cola Celebration Award. We're inviting fans to vote online to put players forward for this honour. And every time a player celebrates a goal during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in style, Coca-Cola will make an additional donation to our RAIN Water for Schools programme to provide African schools with access to safe drinking water.
For those who have nifty celebration moves of their own, fans can upload videos of their own goal celebrations.
