Coke Zero Street Striker, Presented by Wayne Rooney

We teamed up with the top striker to discover new footballing talent

Wayne Rooney street striker

Wayne Rooney is internationally respected for his outstanding football skills. Whether it's a glorious shot on target or a nimble turn in front of a defender, Rooney honed his 'tekkers' (footballing technique) on the streets of Liverpool and has a keen eye for up and coming footballers attempting the same.

As Rooney says: "I started playing football on the streets and I know that if you want to be recognised for your talent you have to put yourself up for these opportunities, as they don't come along often."

Together with Coke Zero, Rooney went on a search for Britain's most talented street footballer. Talented players aged between 16 and 24 were invited to come down to open trials and impress the judges with the biggest flicks, best tricks and hardest kicks, combined with athletic pace, agility and accuracy in a series of challenges.

The TV show charting the progress of Street Striker applicants was broadcast on Sky 1 HD in autumn 2010.
