Newcastle’s star footballer

Amin to take centre stage on giant Coca‑Cola and StreetGames billboard

An inspirational footballer from Shieldfield in Newcastle-upon-Tyne has been picked as one of six young people to front a new campaign celebrating Coca-Cola’s partnership with StreetGames, an award-winning charity that brings sport straight to the doorsteps of young people in disadvantaged communities around the UK.

19-year-old Amin Kashy, a football coach at the Hat-Trick Project, a StreetGames partner scheme, was chosen for the campaign because of the contribution he has made to StreetGames in his neighbourhood.

Amin moved to Newcastle from Iran as a young boy, unable to speak a word of English. His love for football and involvement in StreetGames has seen him go from strength to strength over the years, and he has now qualified as a FA Level 1 football coach. Amin regularly volunteers at a local football club and provides coaching at the primary school he first attended in Newcastle.

" StreetGames has had a very positive impact on my life and being such an important part of the Hat-Trick Project has made me a better person, expanded my knowledge as a coach and given me great tips on how to be a better role model. I’m studying law at university and I hope to be able to go on to study sport law so that I can work in an industry that has always been a massive part of my life." Amin Kashy

In the style of a professional athlete, Amin will star on a giant Coca-Cola billboard from 15th August. The poster will be on display at Scotswood Road and is one of six that will be on show across the UK this summer, to coincide with a series of StreetGames sports festivals that will be taking place in Birmingham, London, Bristol, Manchester and Cardiff.
