Manchester's street dancer
Inspirational Joe Maguire picked to star on Cola-Cola and StreetGames billboard

Joe Maguire, an 18-year-old street dancer from Wythenshawe in Manchester, has been chosen as one of six young people to take part in a poster campaign celebrating Coca‑Cola’s partnership with StreetGames, an award-winning charity that brings sport straight to the doorstep of young people in disadvantaged communities around the UK.
The inspirational youngster will star on a giant billboard to be displayed on Chancellor Lane from 15th August, and was picked as the face of the poster because of his commitment to his local StreetGames project at Wythenshawe Forum.
Manchester StreetGames programmes in action
Joe was introduced to StreetGames by youth workers two years ago and credits StreetGames with helping him to progress in academic subjects as well as sport. He hopes to attend university next year to study medicine.
" Being involved in StreetGames has given me lots and lots of confidence, which has not only helped me to progress in my dancing, but also in academic subjects. It’s made me much more confident in public speaking too." Joe Maguire
Joe’s billboard is one of six which will be shown across the country. The posters have been unveiled to coincide with a series of StreetGames sports festivals taking place in UK cities including Birmingham, London, Newcastle, Bristol and Cardiff.
Teaming up with StreetGames is just one example of how Coca‑Cola is investing in community programmes that help people live more active lives. Liz Lowe, Citizenship Manager at Coca‑Cola Great Britain, says: "We’re helping StreetGames reach out to communities and one of the things we wanted to do was to celebrate the achievements of some of the young people like Joe who have been involved. They really deserve to be the heroes of our campaign. We’ve chosen six but there are thousands of young people all with their own stories to tell of how getting involved in sport can change lives."
