Coca‑Cola was shortlisted in The Guardian Sustainable Business Awards for our global efforts in conserving water. Our ‘Reduce, recycle, replenish’ approach, which received a ‘Highly Commended’ in this year’s ‘Water’ category, focuses on the following three areas:

• Reducing our use of water. Since 2001 we've cut our water use ratio by more than a fifth. In Great Britain, we're using less than 1.47 litres for every litre. That’s one of the lowest levels in the whole of the Coca‑Cola System
• Recycling water used in our manufacturing processes and returning it safely to the environment
• Replenishing water in communities and nature through the support of healthy watersheds and community water programmes to balance the water used in our finished beverages

Our global goal by 2020 is to safely return the same amount of water used in making all our drinks to nature and communities.
